Vitamin Enrichment of Eggs
نویسنده
چکیده
Layers were fed diets with regular or 3 to 10 times more supplemental vitamins in an attempt to enrich eggs with these nutrients. Dietary concentrations of vitamins were chosen with the expectation of producing an egg with sufficient vitamins to achieve 50% of daily recommended intake (DRI). Eggs were assayed for all vitamins following a 90-d feeding period. There was considerable variation in egg vitamin enrichment. Only for biotin, vitamin B12, and vitamin K was ≥50% DRI achieved with one egg. Egg content of niacin, thiamine, and pyridoxine were insensitive to diet manipulation.

Enrichment of fish eggs with ascorbic acid
Success in aquaculture depends on the mass production and quality of juveniles. However, many fish species suffered high losses during the early stages of development. Therefore, in order to decrease mortality, produce a large number of healthy larvae is a fundamental issue. On the other hand, one of the micronutrients that can be effective in larvae health is ascorbic acid. During the embryoni...

González-Esquerra, R. and Leeson, S. 2001. Alternatives for enrichment of eggs and chicken meat with omega-3 fatty acids. Can. J. Anim. Sci. 81: 295–305. Interest on the enrichment of eggs and poultry meat with omega-3 fatty acids (n-3 FA) has increased given their important role in human metabolism. The inclusion of n-3 FA into eggs and poultry meat is achieved by feeding ingredients such as f...
متن کاملEnrichment of vitamin B12 and B6 and lowering cholesterol levels of eggs by lactic acid bacteria
Maintaining suitable balance of naturally synthesized nutrients by nutrient producer microorganisms is very critical worldwide. In this study, the effect of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) was tested on the cholestrol, vitamin and amino acid content of eggs of Hisex brown and Hisex white layer hens. The strains tested were Lactobacillus plantarum (ATCC 8014), Lactobacillus casei ( ATCC 393), Lactoba...

The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the impact of vitamin E and selenium (Se) supplementation on the performance, egg quality and hatchability of eggs from Japanese breeding quails. The experiment was conducted over a 60 day period using 135 quails in a completely randomized design (CRD) with two levels of vitamin E and two levels of selenium (80 mg/kg of vitamin E+0.2 mg/kg organi...
متن کاملEffect of Vitamin a Deficiency on the Content of Three Forms of Vitamin a in Hen's Eggs.
In the ripe eggs of all species of marine teleost fish so far examined, retinal (vitamin A aldehyde) is the predominant form of vitamin A, and in some species it represents 90% of the total vitamin A-active material in the eggs (Plack, Kon & Thompson, 1959; Plack & Kon, 1961). Hen’s eggs also contain retinal and, for forty-one eggs from six hens on a diet of breeder’s mash, a value of 21.7 pg/e...
